Rain is in the Forecast – Fishing Report 10.5.17
Fall is arriving slowly on the banks of the Pere Marquette River. This week we’re finally seeing the trees start to pop more in colors and the nights and mornings are much cooler. The river still is in need of water, hopefully Saturday’s predictions of a all day rain will land on Lake County. Despite the lack of rain and low , clear water conditions the Salmon fishing has still been pretty good. We saw a good push of fish enter the lower river last week again and words has it there are still some in PM Lake. The new moon and colder weather should start to push them into the river too. You can find a big majority of the King’s spawning now and a few in the pocket and pools if you know where to look. Angler’s are also spotting a few Coho and Steelhead, look for more to come if the river water temps cool and rain brings the water up. Trout fishing during the day has been tough with the clear water and sunny days. Early morning or evening when the light is low has made for better fishing conditions.
Pics Happy Angler’s who fished with Jon Kolehouse and Clint Anderson last week. Finally been able to walk around more , spent some time in the Grouse Woods with our GSP June and great friends.
