Spring is finally here. The banks are turning green, the Hummingbirds and Oriole’s have showed up along with the bugs that the Trout so eagerly feed on. Trout Fishing is in full swing on the Pere Marquette River. Last week it was Streamers smacked on the banks in the beginning. Then followed by light tippet and delicate casts as you floated a Hendrickson spinner to a rising trout. With warmer summer like weather last week and in the forecast for this week, look for Dry Fly fishing to start heating up.
Last week the focus was smaller Streamers during the day. Howard had a awesome day with lots of action before the river started to drop and clear. Here he is with a nice Brown taken on a streamer. Brett worked hard on a bright day and east wind but did find a few players. Myself out with Ryan and my old RO. I took this fish on a small weighted fly fished slow and deep in the bright sun.
