The river is on the rise again with heavy rains since Sunday, through out the State.  The Pere Marquette came up yesterday and is still on the rise.  I finished my Steelhead Season on Friday.  There were a few Steelhead around last week but you had to cover a lot of water and fish a lot of spots to have little success.   The Michigan Trout opener kicked off on Saturday and I will be switching over to Trout this week after the water drops.   Streamers will be the ticket the next few weeks with the high dirty water.  As the river starts to drop and warm. Look for Dry Fly fishing to start to pick up.  Hendrickson’s are starting with Sulphur’s to follow.    For Streamers try Baitfish patterns stripped slow in colors like White, Olive and Black work well on the Pere Marquette.   Once again I would like to thank everyone who joined me for another great Steelhead Season.  The weather was really a blessing this year ,especially  in the winter.   Warmer temps allowed us to fish through the whole winter comfortably.

Pics from last week.  Last Chromer of Spring a nice PM Steelhead.   Howard and Trevor spent the day on the water with me, here are a few pics one’s even a blooper. Whoops!!!  Jim and Julie joined me for there annual Spring trip.   We had to work hard to find some Steelhead with the sun and lower water.  They did really well.  Check out the latest issue of Swing the Fly just arrived hot off the press.
