With a big cold front last week and more rain, Fly Fishing for Trout on the Pere Marquette was tough.  There bellies are full, only a few were willing to play.  Small Streamers got there attention again early in the week. By the weekend we were starting to get a few to look up at  Stimulator type patterns.  The hatches were a bust with the colder weather, plenty of Drakes around but not to many landing on the water.  By nightfall they were putting on there sweaters and heading to the trees.  We shifted gears  little last week and did some warm water fishing for Large Mouth Bass and what ever else would eat. It was a nice change of pace.  Look for the Trout fishing to heat up if the weather does. This morning as I’m writing this report it’s only  in the 40’s.  Judging by the extended forecast looks like more Steamer fishing in the future.  Calling for rains end of the week and weekend.

Fish from the week. Bruce finds this nice Brown on a Dry Fly during Happy Hour.  Jason of Karma Kane Rods with a nice Brown taken on a Streamer.  Nelson and Dan put the Bass Master Classic on last week. Here they are with some great fish taken on Flies and Yamamoto’s.  Myself with a nice Brown taken on a small streamer.
