Winter Showed Itself Last Week!

Steelhead fishing last week was a little tougher. The first sign of Winter lingered for a few days. Temps in the teens and twenty’s at night and highs not even hitting thirty a couple days. Cold air temps lead into dropping water temps and more lethargic fish. We had to work a little more for the hook ups.  The river is also getting clear and the Steelhead are starting to

Steelhead Season is Upon Us!

Wow !!!! What a week it was for chasing Steelhead on the Pere Marquette River, you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.  That smile was lost for a good two months due to my accident. With the first stroke of the oars and the rip and leap of a chrome Steelhead on the swing, everything else was forgotten.   The fishing has been good on the Pere Marquette River

“The River is Thirsty”

The Pere Marquette is thirsty for a cool glass of rain.  The river is very low and extremely warm, temps reaching the high sixties last week in the lower stretches.   The Salmon are still moving into the river from the Lake in small pushes.  In the upper and mid stretches of the river, a majority of them are now spawning with the warm water.   The low clear water

Salmon Season is Underway!

Hope everyone is doing well and getting excited for the Holiday weekend.   Sorry for the lapse of reports, the day after my last report was not a good one.  I was in a dirt bike accident and now unfortunately I’m laid up for awhile.  I broke my arm so running a boat this month will be out of the question.  Not to worry though, will still be posting fishing
