Seasons are Changing
The Pere Marquette River is starting to show its vibrant Fall colors of orange, red and yellow’s as the leaves are starting to turn. We still have been chasing King Salmon, there’s still plenty through out the whole river. I will admit though that I’m getting really anxious to start targeting Chrome Steelhead on the swung fly. Just last night for no reason at all I lined up my New Echo Swing rods which are “awesome” (perfect rod for the Great Lakes) with fresh Air Flo Skagit heads and T-14 sink tips. I have seen a few Steelhead around and this rainy weather and colder temps next week should start getting them up our rivers.
Pics from last week: David Kiwior with the biggest King Salmon of my Season. This Buck taped at 43 inches long and bottomed out the 30lb Boga Grip. He hooked on a smaller version of my “Firecracker Leech”. Couple pics so you can truly see how big this fish is. Dave’s son Adam cradles this nice Salmon his first ever on a fly rod. Scott and Andy with a couple of great Kings on a great fall day spent on the Pere Marquette River. Scott’s fish with the Red in it was really cool. Mark’s all smiles with this nice King. Karen with a nice King. Nick lands this nice King.
