Happy Holidays to everyone !!!! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year !!! My Pere Marquette Steelhead Season is starting to wind down now for the year. Fishing has been hit or miss on the swing. Water levels dropped and cleared, with the warmer weather this week and over the weekend we might see some run off from snow melt bringing the water up and giving it a little color. For Flies try smaller baitfish patterns in more natural colors Sculpins in Olives or Brown and small Leech patterns like my Low Water Leech. For Nymphing try smaller Egg flies in Oregon Cheese, Apricot and Creamy Delight. For Nymphs try smaller Stoneflies on these warmer days along with Green Rockworms and hex Nymph’s.
Pics from the week: Nelson get this incredible looking Steelhead before the warm up. Nick worked hard for two days Swinging the fat line to find a few plucks and pulls and this nice fish that crushed a Sculpin. Rich finds this sweet Steel on the Low Water Leech last week. Heather and the Girls kicking off the Fat Bike Season on national Fat Bike Day. I was able to get out with good friend and Guide Walt Grau to take this nice Steelhead on my Firecracker Leech. GO PACK GO!!!!!
