WILL WINTER EVER LOSE IT’S GRIP?
Will Winter ever loosen its grip? Winter showed its ugly face once again this week and over the weekend. With colder temperatures and rain and snow once again the water temps dropped and the river did come up a bit once again the end of the week. Steelhead fishing remains good, you can find fish through out the whole river system. Bigger Egg Flies worked well with the higher water. Fry patterns and small Leeches were productive through out the week. The Trout bite is starting to turn on with Steelhead spawning and Fry starting to hatch. Stripping and swinging Streamers is starting to move a few nice fish.
Pics from 4/6-4/12 Few pics from the week. Don Jr. and Sr. joined me for there traditional Spring Steelhead trip. We had some great fishing not only finding some great Steelhead but a bonus Brown. Dick had a great day bringing this huge Steelhead to hand on a Leech. Jim and Julie came up to Michigan from Missouri for some Spring Steelhead fishing with Winter conditions. Despite the wind, cold and snow we had some really good fishing.
