Hope everyone enjoyed there Easter Weekend .  Hard to believe a week ago we had 9 inches or more of snow on the ground.  Today I was on the river a week later in a T-Shirt it was pushing 80 degrees.  Only in Michigan!!!  Guess this year we’re going from Winter to Summer on the Pere Marquette River.  Steelhead fishing is slowly coming to a end. With warmer weather there spawning fast and heading back out to Lake Michigan.   There are a few around in every stretch of the river but less and less everyday.  Look for Trout fishing to start to heat up, the river has good color to it and the Salmon Fry and the bugs are popping. Seeing a good amount of small Black Stoneflies in the air and even a few Hendrickson’s already.
Pics from last week before the water came up.  Nelson and Ed had a great couple of days on the water. Despite the snow and rain we had a really good bite.  Ted with his first Steelhead ever on a fly rod. Drop Backs like Streamer’s. this one smacked a Fry on the swing.
