The look of fall

It was another great week chasing Salmon on the Pere Marquette River.   It’s finally starting to look a lot like Fall up here with the trees starting to change into the vibrant colors. The temps however though have still felt like summer with highs in the 70’s and even 80’s.  We did receive some rain last week which brought the river up a little which we desperately need. It’s very low and clear for this time of year.   Still chasing King Salmon and there are still plenty around, mostly find fish around gravel areas and in the pockets and runs.  Have seen a few Steelhead around not enough yet to target though. Some cooler weather and more rain would be good for some more to come into the system along with Cohos.
Pics from the week 10/4-10/8   Ian and Mark joined more their annual Salmon trip we had a lot of laughs and some great fishing.  Ed and his daughter Polly joined me for her first-time fishing for Salmon and Polly did great finding some nice fish. Ed he just loves being on the river and too found some good Kings one with some gnarly dentures.    John and Jennifer ended the week with some great fishing we found quite of few Kings and were able to put some nice ones into the net.    Scott, mike and his boys Adam and Derek joined myself and guide Jeff Bacon for an awesome day on the water the weather felt like summer and there were plenty of fish around.   Thanks to everyone who joined me another great week on the river !!!!
