Winter’s Behind us
Hopefully we put winter in the rear-view mirror last week. The Pere Marquette River finally lost the snow along the banks to some much-needed warmer temps last week which to bumped up the water levels. This much needed water should push in some New Steelhead for the river level is higher and dirtier now and we do have rain in the forecast all week. Last week went from crazy winter fishing with temps as high as 15 degrees to ending the week in the 50’s and 60’s only in Michigan. Flies have been bigger Clown Egg’s and Fry Patterns. On the Swing, bright Leech, and other baitfish patterns.
Some PM fish pics: Nick joined me for his annual Spring Steelhead trip which was more of a deep winter fishing trip then spring. Surprisingly with such a low-pressure system the fish were still really on the bite in the colder weather. Sunday we even had slush coming down all morning. Rick all smiles with a brute of a buck Steelhead. Bob can’t get enough of the PM, he joined me for a couple days with his brother in laws Dave and Kurt we had some great fishing and good laughs as always. Jerry and Dan with a couple of nice Steelhead on a spring day. Jim and Steve with some great fish before the river bumped up, Steve found some silver on this day.
