Spring has shaped up to be some good Trout fishing on the Pere Marquette River. We were blessed this year to see a good number of Gray Drakes in the air. With the colder weather the last couple weeks the spinner falls have been decent.   The cooler weather brought the bugs down early and on the water which turned into a feeding frenzy for the Trout.  Look for good fishing to continue with some warmer weather ahead the Hex’s should start popping.  Make sure to check for ticks this year, they are horrible everywhere, even on the river.   If you’re an Angler or Paddler who loves to jump around from river to river this time of year, please remember to scrub your waders, boats and boots and anything else that hits our great rivers. This will help stop the spread of those ugly invasive species like Didymo (rock snot). Thanks, and tight lines.

Few Pics of some great days on the river.  Joe and I had a day only a Michigan Dry Fly Angler dreams of, with cooler weather the Drakes dropped well before dark and good fish were looking up.   Nelson with a great Rainbow that fell for a Drake dun.  Nelson and Ed had a great day on the water we tossed a lot of bugs, and the Trout were picky, but we found a few good ones.  Tom finished off the week with this great fish!!!
