Low Water

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer and had a great 4th of July.     Trout fishing on the Pere Marquette River has been up and down, with lack of rain the river is extremely low.   Even our Hex hatch kind of came and then fizzled out.  Right now, Terrestrials and assortment of attractor dry flies will fish well.  Small Nymphs under a float or just dead drifted can be affective on the brighter days. In the evenings Stoneflies are still coming off the water and Mouse fishing has been ok on the humid nights.  Good luck out there and tight lines !!!
Pics from last week. Bob with a nice Brown taken on a dry.   Nick joined me for his annual summer float we fished hard for that elusive Dragon,  we found this nice one feeding on top.  With a little sprinkle and some cloud cover Todd had a great day on the water fishing Dry Flies.  He was able to bring some great fish to hand. It was a fun day, and the fish were happy with the clouds.   Glen and his wife Nikki joined me for another cloudy day which seemed to be the recipe for some good Dry Fly-fishing last week. Nikki stole the show with a couple great fish. Nice Job !!!   Adam and  Kevin finished off the week with their first-time trying trout fishing on the PM.  They have spent many days bundled up like the Michelin Man on this river chasing Steelhead and deciding they wanted to try a summer float. They both did great hitting the banks with dry flies.
