Salmon fishing on the Pere Marquette remains good. The fish are however scattered throughout the river system and with the warmer summer weather and lack of rain we’re seeing they are spawning and fading fast. The upper river is probably the lowest I have seen this time of year, every time rain is in the forecast, we see little to none. There’s plenty of fish to still arrive, Anglers are finding them in PM lake including right off the Pier heads. Just need some more fall like weather to get them moving once again.
Here’s a Few pics from last week: John is all smiles with this giant King. Rick and Doug joined me for their annual Salmon day. Rick brings in this giant Buck on an Egg Sucking Leech. So far one of the biggest of the season, well over 25 plus pounds. Doug with a great King. Rick found another dandy the second day and Doug matched it. Scott and Jerry had a great day on the water they brought some great fish to hand.
