Hub’s Stone

                  If your a Steelhead Angler in the Great lakes area you must have some Stone Flies in your box. March is the time to fish these bugs, as water starts to warm Stoneflies start to move. I would say most fish we get in March if not on a egg is on a Stonefly Nymph. As in February mostly Hex’s work

                April is the time of year that the Salmon fry start to hatch and show themselves in big numbers. This fly is not only deadly on Steelhead but also becomes a nice snack for big Browns that thrive in the waters I guide on. Sparkle Fry

Core Caddis

Uplander

Uplander Special Recipe Hook: Tiemco 2457 Size 8 Tail: Pheasant Tail Abdomen: Pheasant tail wrapped toward front of Hook. Wing: Case Pearl Flash rib size Med Thorax: Hares Ear Brown Ice Dub/ Ruffed Grouse Soft Hackle wrapped over Dub towards front of hook. Head: Gold or Copper Bead Head This is a very affective pattern for Steelhead or down size for Trout.
